DESCRIPTION:\nLiberty Victoria and Rights Advocacy Project invite you a screening of Complicit\n\n\n**SPEAKER UPDATE** \nThe Human Rights Law Centre’s Keren Adams will be joining us to share her insights into corporate accountability.  Keren has litigated landmark cases in the UK holding multinational corporations to account and now heads up the HRLC’s work on business and human rights. \nShot undercover\, Complicit follows the journey of factory migrant worker-turned-activist Yi Yeting\, who takes on the global electronic industry and its blatant disregard for workers’ rights. \nBattling occupation-induced leukaemia\,  Yeting teaches himself labour law in order to prepare a legal challenge against his former employers who exposed him and thousands of other to poisonous chemicals. The film follows Yeting’s journey and provides new insights into the horrific human rights abuses in global supply chains. The film paints a damning portrait of business and human rights\, but it is also a call to arms and a story of a movement fighting back. \nAll money raised from the screening will go to Liberty Victoria and Rights Advocacy Project\, to support their work in protecting human rights in Australia. \nSpeaker to be announced.\n\n\nTickets are $24 for the film or $30 for the film + a candy bar voucher for either popcorn + a choc top\, or popcorn + a soft drink. Book here before tickets sell out: trybooking.com/QNPA\n
